10th Anniversary Gary Mahoney Memorial Debate

The 10th Annual Gary Mahoney Memorial Debate, brought to you in partnership between Friends of the Earth Liverpool, Faiths4Change and the Merseyside Environmental Trust, takes place on world environment day – 5th June 2025, 7 – 9pm, the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool and our focus this year is ‘Is Green Travel Going Anywhere?’.

Our non – adversarial debate will feature key speakers including Stu Bennett, from the successful Save Rimrose Valley Friends, Jenny Bates, Climate and Clean Air Campaigner, Friends of the Earth and Huw Jenkins, Lead Officer – Transport Policy, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

The debate will be mediated by Paulette Lappin, Deputy Leader of Sefton Council and Member of the Liverpool City Region Transport Cabinet.

Green Drinks Liverpool, Social will be in the Wave Bar from 6pm.

To bring folk together and sustain the annual debate, we’re hosting a network space this year and inviting campaigns, groups and organisations to have a table.
